About an hour’s drive from the C\u00f4te d’Argent campsite in Hourtin-Plage<\/strong>, the M\u00e9doc vineyards<\/strong> stretch along the Gironde estuary, 80 kilometers north of Ludon-M\u00e9doc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The M\u00e9doc vineyards in Gironde<\/strong> are renowned for their complex, high-quality wines and boast some sixty crus. It comprises two AOCs: AOC M\u00e9doc for the part of the vineyard north of Saint-Est\u00e8phe, and AOC Haut-M\u00e9doc for the part to the south. The M\u00e9doc vineyards<\/strong> can be explored by following the M\u00e9doc Wine Route<\/strong>, a tourist itinerary that mainly takes the D2 road from Bordeaux, in the direction of Pauillac. There’s no shortage of tourist attractions, starting with Lamarque, in the heart of the M\u00e9doc vineyards<\/strong>. You can visit the ch\u00e2teau and take part in a wine tasting. From the port of Lamarque, you can also take a cruise on the estuary. A little further north, don’t miss the Cordouan lighthouse, guardian of the estuary and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A visit to Bordeaux<\/strong> is a must. With its rich historical heritage, temporary and permanent exhibitions, museums, shopping streets, markets and restaurants, you’ll be spoilt for choice!
