What to do around Vendays-Montalivet in the M\u00e9doc?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Here, the Bordeaux vineyards<\/a> and their prestigious wines take center stage. There are plenty of places to visit and taste (in moderation), including the M\u00e9doc<\/strong> and Blayais<\/strong> regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The village ofHourtin<\/strong> is dominated by pine forests. The commune shares with Carcans<\/a> the largest enclosed lake in France, covering over 6,200 hectares. It is fed by small rivers called ” crastes<\/strong> “. It then flows via the canal des \u00e9tangs into Lac de Lacanau and the Arcachon basin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This fortified town boasts one of the finest Romanesque churches in the region, with its choir adorned with sculpted arches. The spot is splendid at low tide, at sunset, as you descend towards the rocks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
